Christian Bale to play Batman in The Dark Knight Trilogy

Hollywood star Christian Bale says he hasn’t seen ‘The Batman’ but calls actor Robert Pattinson a great actor. “I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll watch it,” Bell told Variety during the premiere of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. “Listen dude, it’s amazing how few movies I watch. Every director I work with, I’ve seen a few of his movies and he’s always looking at me, ‘Are you kidding?’ I really like to savor movies and don’t watch too much. But I will, I definitely will. Robert is an absolutely wonderful actor. We bumped into each other, talked a little bit about it ahead of time , and I heard wonderful things.”

According to Variety, Bale played the Caped Crusader three times in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” franchise. Pattinson took on the role last year in the first installment of Matt Reeves’ franchise reboot.

In a ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, Bell plays the terrifying Gor the God Butcher, a name he jokingly took to mean, “You don’t really have to ask what he’s about. And what is his inspiration?”

She starred in the Taika Waititi-directed Marvel film alongside Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson, but admitted that the deciding factor for her in landing the role was her two children.

“I always look at who is directing it, who the people are involved in, is it a good story, am I going to get anything out of it,” Bell said. “With this, my kids were saying to me, ‘By the way, you’re doing this,’ and I went, ‘Am I really?’ And he said, ‘Yes you are,’ and I went, ‘Well, yes I am.'”

He continued: “I’m there for Taika and Chris and Natalie and Tessa and the whole crowd, and I basically thought, ‘Yeah, this won’t work,’ and I’m done right by my kids.”

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is set to hit the screens on July 8.
