Christian Bale Reveals Why People Laughed At Him Before The Batman Trilogy

Washington: Christian Bale will forever be associated with the Bruce Wayne/Batman role in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy, but it is now revealed that not everyone previously believed the duo’s portrayal of the character.

Starting with “Batman Begins” and most notably in “The Dark Knight,” Bell and Nolan brought the character to a level of realism that the comic book movie genre had never seen. Bell’s serious approach was in contrast to the campier take on Batman as seen in Joel Schumacher’s “Batman Forever” and “Batman & Robin,” according to Variety.

“I [tell people] We’re going to do like Batman, but take him seriously. I’ve had a lot of people laugh at me and say, ‘Well, that’s not going to work at all. So it’s wonderful to be part of a trilogy that proved those people wrong. I’m Not Sure It Kick-Started [the MCU]But it certainly helped along the way,” Bell told The Washington Post.

Bale will next return to the genre as the villainous ‘Gore the God Butcher’ in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.

“I don’t have a goodbye and unless other people tell me ‘goodbye and thank you, please never watch this again’ then I’ll take their word for it. But otherwise, a good story is a good story.” A good film is a good film. And a good director is a good director. And I am open to any of these ideas.”

Bell recently made headlines by telling ScreenRant that he isn’t totally opposed to seeing Batman or Bruce Wayne again in another “Dark Knight” movie. However, the Oscar winner has one condition; Nolan should be the director of the film.

Bell said, “I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look, let’s make three movies if we’re lucky enough to do that. And then let’s go. Don’t stop.’ In my mind, it would be something like if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I have another story to tell.’ And if he wants to tell that story with me, I’ll come in.”

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ hits the big screens from Friday, July 7.
