The Delhi High Court has dismissed Chirag Paswan’s plea against considering Pashupati Paras as the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). After the expansion of the Union Cabinet on 7 July, LJP MP Paswan had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday.

Chirag had threatened PM Modi
LJP leader Chirag Paswan directly challenged PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Chirag said in a press conference in Patna that if the expelled MP from LJP quota Pashupati Paras is included in the Union Cabinet, then I will go to the court. I am the national president, the party is also mine. I have support too. It is wrong to make any MP a minister from the party quota without my permission.

There was a coup in the LJP on the night of June 13-14.

The discord in the LJP started on the evening of June 13. On June 14, except Chirag Paswan, the other five MPs had called a meeting of the Parliamentary Board. In this, Hajipur MP Pashupati Kumar Paras was elected as the new chairman of the parliamentary board. This information was also given to the Lok Sabha Speaker. By the evening of June 14, he had also got recognition from the Lok Sabha Secretariat. Here, Chirag Paswan called a meeting of the National Executive and recommended the removal of the five rebel MPs from LJP. Then on June 17, in a meeting of the Paras faction in Patna, he was elected the national president of the party.
