Jhansi: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will visit the flood affected villages of Hamirpur and Jalaun districts on Tuesday to inspect the flood affected villages and monitor the relief work. He will arrive after attending the virtual inauguration program of Ujjwala 2 by PM Narendra Modi in Mahoba.
Meanwhile, hundreds of villages in both the districts have been affected by the floods, many of them seriously. Some villages have been cut off from all directions except for lack of food and other essential commodities.
Food and other relief materials were transported to several villages of Jalaun district by local authorities with the help of army helicopters. Jalaun’s DM Priyanka Niranjan also visited many such villages and assured adequate help.
Talking to TOI, Commissioner Jhansi Division, Ajay Shankar Pandey informed that 72 villages in Jalaun district have been affected, of which about two dozen are of serious nature. NDRF and Army have also been deployed in the rescue operation.
“We are supplying dry ration along with cooked food. Apart from this, medical teams are being sent to the island villages for medical assistance. We are trying to evacuate people, though many of them are reluctant to leave their places”, Commissioner Pandey said.
