CHENNAI: Slowing down of southwest monsoon over other areas could be good news for Chennai and its neighboring districts as meteorologists have forecast rain for at least three days from this weekend.
For the next 48 hours, the IMD has predicted rain and thundershower activities in some areas of the city and its adjoining areas. The sky is likely to remain generally cloudy with the maximum and minimum temperatures hovering around 35°C and 26°C.
N Puviaarasan of the Regional Meteorological Center said that the rain would be a result of convective activity due to an ongoing circulation from the east and a low-level trough from the west supported by warmer temperatures over the state. “From Saturday to Monday, there may be some rain in almost all the districts of the state, some areas may also receive heavy rains. Chennai can expect rain on Saturday morning and then later in the night.
