Chennai Police rescued a woman who was sexually assaulted in a moving car in the early hours of Thursday.

Seeing the woman screaming from the windshield of the car, the police stopped the car at around 2.30 am on Thursday.

The woman took off her shoes and started beating the three people sitting in the car and got out of the car.

One caught, two looking for others

One of the criminals, identified as Gautam, has been arrested. However, the other two Deepak and Shakit escaped from the spot.

The 23-year-old woman, who works as an entrepreneur, was offered to go back home after attending a party in Nungambakkam. On the way, the three youths started beating the woman.

The three accused, Gautam, Deepak and Sakthi, are from Vellore and work in an IT firm in Thuraipakkam.

A case has been registered at Nungambakkam All Women Police Station.

Further investigation is being done.
