Chennai: The Greater Chennai Corporation one is given new look to dilapidated community hall In a housing board premises in Thiruvanmiyur. This was done by the garbage conservation contractor of the municipal body Arbasar Sumeet,
VR Hari Balaji, head of information, education and communication, Urbasar, said the community hall, which was used by children for studies, was in a dilapidated condition. “Therefore, we decided to fix the building and give it a facelift,” he said. The conservation team painted the hall with designs and cartoons that appealed to children.
About 130 families live in the campus and it is used by about 70 children every day. Arbasar recently revamped a lane filled with sewage and garbage in a slum board tenement in the city.
