Chennai: A conscientious sweeper of Greater Chennai Corporation is in the news for his job of restoring a gold coin which he collected to its rightful owners through the police to its rightful owners.

Mary was sorting out the garbage collected from various households in Tiruvattiyur street when she heard a tinkling. He thought it to be some metal object or coin but he found that it was a gold coin.

Meanwhile, Ganesh Raman had lodged a complaint at Satangadu police station that he had lost a 100 gm gold coin which he had packed in an old polythene cover and kept under his bed. He said that it had somehow fallen into the dustbin of his house and must have found its way into the dustbin of the corporation.

Interacting with media persons, Mary, who is working hard to make ends meet, said: “When I found the gold coin, I had no second thoughts and went straight to the nearby police station. And handed him over to the police station. Charge.”
