Punjab National Bank (PNB) had issued a tweet on Wednesday alerting its customers and account holders about a new change. From next month, the bank has said that the existing Cheque Book NS Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India will be closed. The lender said that this change will come into effect from October 1, 2021. In addition to this, Punjab National Bank has also requested its customers to replace their old check book at the earliest.
The tweet released from his official Twitter account read: “Old check book of EOBC and EUNI is going to be closed from 1-10-2021. Please replace your old check book of e-OBC and e-UNI with PNB check book with updated PNB IFSC and MICR.
It was also mentioned that the changes these account holders wish to make can be done in a few different ways. The bank said that you can apply for your new check book through ATM, Internet Banking, PNB One or Call Center.
“Receive your new check book from your branch or apply through ATM/IBS/PNB One. All customers are requested to use the new PNB check book with only PNB IFSC and MICR updates from now on to avoid any transactional inconvenience. For any assistance or query please contact our toll-free number 1800-180-2222,” Punjab National Bank said on its tweet.
Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India both were merged into Punjab National Bank in April 2020.
Other Changes by Punjab National Bank
With the festive season approaching, the lender has decided to waive all service charges and processing charges on retail products as part of its holiday season offerings. The bank will also waive documentation charges on its retail products such as home loans, vehicle loans, property loans, personal loans, pension loans and even gold loans.
It also offers fresh interest rates on home loans starting from 6.80 per cent. The bank has started giving an interest rate of 7.15 percent for car loans. In addition to this, the bank will also offer an attractive interest rate for its home loan top-up. It has been mentioned that customers will be able to take advantage of these offers till the end of this year i.e. till December 31, 2021.
allahabad bank check book change next month
Like Punjab National Bank, the erstwhile Allahabad Bank will also discontinue its check books and MICR code from the beginning of next month. This comes from a Twitter post stating that the bank will stop these processes on October 1, 2021. This tweet was earlier released on July 31, 2021. The bank asked its customers to obtain or apply for a new check book from their nearest branches. Through Internet/Mobile Banking for them.
