ChatGPT For iOS Now Available In India; Crosses 500,000 Downloads Since Its Launch

OpenAI is looking to expand its reach by offering the ChatGPT app in Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, India, Jamaica, Korea, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, the UK and other countries.

As TechCrunch reports, ChatGPT outperformed many rival apps, including AI and chatbot apps like Microsoft’s Bing and Edge apps, which integrate OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology.

Although both Bing and Edge experienced significant interest in ChatGPT when it first launched in February, with 340,000 and 335,000 downloads in iOS and Android, respectively, the ChatGPT app outperformed them, launching in the US. In terms of iOS downloads alone, ChatGPT outperformed both Bing and Edge with 4,80,000 installs compared to Bing’s 2,50,000 and Edge’s 1,95,000.

However, when looking at all US downloads on both app stores in May, Bing and Edge were still ahead of ChatGPT — but not when comparing just iOS installs for the month, according to the report.

In addition, data.ai’s analysis found that the ChatGpt app outperformed other top AI chatbot apps on the App Store, many of which have generic names to capitalize on searches for keywords such as “AI” or “chatbot”. Were.

Compared to the best five-day period for other apps in 2023 on the App Store and Google Play, OpenAI’s ChatGPT ranked in the top five in downloads.
