From magicians performing their tricks and clowns to stilt walkers and fire breathers entertaining the kids – there was something for everyone as people of all age groups came to experience the carnival. However, the biggest attraction was the laser show which mesmerized the people of the city.
Abdul Khadir, a resident of Old City, who came with his family, said, “Let us be like this in our life. kabhi nahi Dekhi Charminar Ko (In my forty years of existence, I have never seen Charminar like this). My kids especially enjoyed the laser show and music here.

For ghazal lovers, a Mushaira performance was organized, even as rap artists and beat-boxers entertained the youth on the streets, creating a fun atmosphere around the arena. SrikantoA youth from Dabirpura said, “When I saw pictures of Sunday’s Funday event at Tank Bund, I was tempted to go and be a part of it. However, since it was too far away, I could not go. When I came to know I am glad that a similar event is taking place in Charminar. The event lived up to its hype and we had a great time listening to music and enjoying the food here.”
Shoppers also had a great time, as several stalls selling bangles, crafts, bags and other items were set up in the area and buzzed with customers. RizwanaThe resident of Falaknuma said, “It was really like a carnival and the shopping experience was unforgettable. I hope this becomes a regular feature so that I can come back and experience it again.”
