With the decline in COVID-19 cases, tourists have started venturing out for Kedarnath Yatra. The temple is one of the most sacred temples for Hindus and is located in the Rudra Himalaya Range at an altitude of 12000 feet in Uttarakhand, India. It can be reached either through an 18 km trek or a helicopter ride. While a large proportion of visitors use the former, the second approach is also busy. If you are planning to take a helicopter ride to Kedarnath temple, then your weight should be less than 80 kgs. In a new guideline, it has been announced that passengers weighing more than 80 kg will have to pay Rs 150 per kg as an additional charge.

In fact, those weighing more than 120 kg will have to pay double the fare. In addition, helicopter service providers will consider the weight of individual passengers, and this will not be offset with any other passenger even if traveling together. A total of 2 kg of baggage is allowed on the flight.

Talking about helicopter services, various companies are offering them Pawan Hans, Pinnacle Air, Heritage Aviation and more. They provide service for a one-way trip or a round trip. Pilgrims can choose to board a helicopter from several places – Phata, Sersi, Sitapur, Guptkashi, Dehradun and Delhi.

The ride fare ranges between Rs 6500-8000 per person for a round trip. However, it fluctuates as per the demand and footfall. Companies charge in the range of Rs 3,000-3,500 for a one-way journey.
