The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization or EPFO has asked all its subscribers to complete their e-nomination. PF accounts by March 31 and issued a warning that failure to complete the process would result in the retirement not being able to use certain facilities provided by the body.
Why is EPF enrollment important?
“It is important for customers to enroll for the care of their spouse, children and parents and protect them through online PF, pension and insurance.” EPFO Said in a statement. The purpose of filing nomination is to ensure benefits for the dependents of the PF account holder in the event of an accident. In the event of such an event happening to the account holder, the nominee will be able to get benefits from insurance and pension plans.
However, EPFO has also recently said that non-filing of e-nomination can result in account balance getting stuck, which will create trouble for the family in case of any untoward incident with the account holder.
