Chandrakant Patil has nothing to talk about: Jayant Patil

Mumbai: Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil on Wednesday rubbished reports that Maharashtra may have a new chief ministerial face. Jayant Patil took a dig at Chandrakant Patil over his remarks that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray should hand over the reins to his wife Rashmi Thackeray or son Aaditya Thackeray if he is not able to continue in the post due to ill health and said that the state BJP The (BJP) chief is creating issues unnecessarily as he has nothing to talk about.

“There is nothing like that. Chandrakant Patil has no issues to talk about, so he is creating unnecessary issues. The health condition of our chief minister is good,” he told ABP in an exclusive conversation.

The Maharashtra Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief further said that Chief Minister Thackeray, who has undergone surgery recently, is following all the advice, including physio therapy, suggested by doctors.

“He has also attended our cabinet meeting at least thrice. So, I think he will definitely attend this session,” he told ABP News in an exclusive conversation.

Taking a jibe at the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, the Maharashtra BJP chief had earlier said that the chief minister should not be harsh and give charge to his wife or son in case he is not able to work due to ill health.

Chandrakant Patil said that Chief Minister Thackeray, who has been missing for more than 45 days due to ill health, should hand over the charge to someone else in such a situation.

Stating that the administration cannot run without a chief minister, who is essential for everything, the BJP leader said now someone else should take the charge.

Continuing his statement, Chandrakant Patil said that if Shiv Sena does not have faith in its alliance partner NCP, then Aaditya Thackeray is the best option for the top post in the state.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister, who had a successful cervical spine surgery on November 12 at HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, was discharged earlier this month.

Chief Minister Thackeray, who has been advised to work from home for the next few days after his surgery, earlier on Tuesday attended a cabinet meeting via video conferencing on the eve of the winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly.
