This time, even after the departure of monsoon, good rains may occur during October to December. There is a possibility of increasing the activity of the storm in the Bay of Bengal. According to weather models around the world, there is a possibility of good conditions for the emergence of La-Nina storms between October and December. Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra, Director General of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), said that there will be normal rains in the remaining two months of the monsoon.

He said that the climate patterns of the Pacific Ocean, El-Nino and La-Nina are currently in the neutral phase and this situation will remain till the end of monsoon. Both these climate patterns affect the weather around the world. In the neutral phase, winds over the Pacific Ocean blow from east to west, bringing warm humid air and warm surface waters to the western Pacific. This keeps the Central Pacific Ocean cool.

La Nina is likely to emerge after monsoon. Weather studies suggest that the monsoon remains active when La Nia emerges, cyclonic (stormy) activities increase in the Bay of Bengal and there may also be a sea storm. Mohapatra said, “There is no such technology that can know when, where the storm will occur during October to December and to what extent it will affect.” Last year, La Nina conditions emerged in the last month of the monsoon, which led to a lot of rain in September. Due to this, there was 109% rain in the entire monsoon.

99% chance of rain in August
IMD said, the monsoon model has indicated 94% to 104% rainfall in August. On the other hand, there is a possibility of 100% rain in August-September. Normal rainfall is 258.1 mm during August and 428.3 mm in August-September combined. During June-July, there has been one percent less rainfall. Normally, June should have received 166.9 mm of rain but received 182.9 mm of rain. However, July received 7 per cent less (266 mm) rainfall than normal (285.3 mm).

Yield will also be good due to good rain
With good rains in the monsoon, the hope of a good crop has increased in the country. Monsoon has a direct impact on crops and yields. It is a good thing for agriculture to have an average rainfall for a long time. The average rainfall of August and September will give good yield of crops. India is the third largest economy in Asia. With the monsoon, sowing of Kharif crops also starts here, which completely depends on the monsoon.
