Challenges make you stronger, more resilient: Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan to students

former reserve bank India Governor Raghuram Rajan on Saturday urged students to test themselves and know who they are as only challenges make them stronger and more resilient. Addressing the convocation ceremony of city-based Kriya Vishwavidyalaya here, he said that students should give back to the society as it is the country which has nurtured them and giving back is a privilege of fulfillment.

“I am often asked for career advice and I want to leave you with three thoughts – Know yourself, challenge yourself and take others with you. Know who you are, what excites you and really What excites you in me,” Rajan said at the Kreya University convocation here. “Challenge yourself – you are not growing if things are easy. You don’t know who you really are. Find something that will test you. (Third), take others with you. You are indebted to the society you grew up in, the country that brought you up,” he said.

“Giving back (to society) is not a task but a privilege, a source of fulfillment which we must also seek,” he said. Stating that the graduates passing out today need a special mention, he said that the traditions created by the students are etched in the culture of the University.

Rajan said, “Giving back (to society) is not a task but a privilege, a source of fulfillment which we must also find.”
