The investigation uncovered that Vetrimaran, a transsexual person who was once a friend of Nandhini, committed the murder. Pandi Maheshwari, also known as Vetrimaran, is the suspect in the tragic incident involving the death of R. Nandhini, a 25-year-old software engineer. The horrifying incident occurred in Thalambur, a southern suburb of Chennai, on Saturday. Residents discovered Nandhini’s half-charred body, which was bound and had suffered severe blade injuries to her neck, hands, and legs on the night of December 23.

The police from Thalambur responded to the incident, recovering the victim’s body and transporting it to the hospital. Regrettably, Nandhini succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Preliminary investigations indicated that Nandhini, originally from Madurai, was the victim. The police team traced the suspect and identified a transsexual individual, Pandi Maheshwari, also known as Vetrimaran, as the perpetrator behind the brutal murder.

The police revealed that Nandhini and Pandi Maheshwari, aged 26, were former classmates at a high school in Madurai. Subsequently, Maheshwari changed her name to Vetrimaran. Over the past eight months, both Nandhini and Vetrimaran had been colleagues at a software firm in Thoraipakkam and had developed a friendship. Nandhini eventually developed romantic feelings for Vetrimaran. However, tensions arose when she decided to end their friendship and started communicating with other people, provoking Vetrimaran’s anger and ultimately leading to Nandhini’s tragic murder.

Law enforcement officials apprehended Vetrimaran on Saturday, and they have placed her in judicial custody. The police are actively conducting further investigations into the case.
