After the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, the administration has stopped the people of Haryana-Punjab from meeting the victims. Accordingly, the secretary has issued orders that people coming from these two states should be stopped from going to Lakhimpur. Despite this, Sardar Gurnam Singh Chaduni, president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, reached out to the victims’ families and inquired about their well being. While the police had made elaborate preparations to stop Gurnam Singh Chaduni and alerts were sent everywhere about his identity.

But Gurnam Singh Chadhuni managed to dodge the police by changing his appearance. Gurnam Singh Chaduni, often seen in white-kurta pajama and saffron turban, had tied a white handkerchief instead of half-sleeved shirt, pants and turban to Lakhimpur. The police detained another Gurnam Singh, whose clothes, turban color and stature were exactly like that of President Gurnam Singh Chaduni.

At the same time, after returning from Lakhimpur, Gurnam Singh Chadhuni told that he was also stopped by the UP Police at 1.30 pm while coming, but instead of going during that time, he was returning, due to which the police let him go. In Lakhimpur, Gurnam Singh met the farmers injured in the violence and also met the families of the killed farmers. Apart from this, paying tribute to the farmers by visiting the place of their funeral.
