Central Railway, Western Railway to do mega block in Mumbai

Mumbai: The Central Railway on Sunday announced a mega block on its suburban sections of the Trans-Harbour and Harbor Line to carry out maintenance work.

Shivaji Sutar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Central Railway said, “On Sunday, we are announcing a mega block on the Harbor Line. There has been a lot of damage between Badlapur, Vangani and Karjat sections, which have been restored. “

Central Railway services have also been affected due to heavy rains in Mumbai and in the last one week, almost all services have now been resumed, the CPRO said.

The CPRO further said that the interruption to the main line has been canceled and restoration work is underway on a small patch between Karjat and Khopoli in the suburban network.

“Trains are running towards Pune and Nashik on both ghat sections of Mumbai division. Services were restored on July 22,” Sutar said.

“Our team worked on a war footing in the ghat sections that were affected due to heavy rains on July 22. We were able to restore traffic on the same day. There were incidents of landslides and boulders,” he said.

Up services leaving Thane for Vashi/Nerul/Panvel from 10.35 am to 4.19 pm and Thane leaving Panvel/Nerul/Vashi from 10.15 am to 4.09 pm will remain suspended during the block period.

Dn Harbor leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai/Wadala Road for Vashi/Belapur/Panvel from 11.34 am to 4.47 pm and Bandra/Goregaon leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 09.56 am to 4.43 pm Line services will remain suspended.

Up Harbor line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.53 am to 3.20 pm and Up Harbor line for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Goregaon/Bandra from 10.45 am to 4.58 pm Services will also remain suspended.

Meanwhile, Western Railway has set up a jumbo block for five hours from 10:35 am on Sunday on the Up and Down fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (local) railway stations for maintenance work of tracks, signaling and overhead equipment. is planned.

All fast line trains will run on slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (Local) during five hours.

Western Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Sumit Thakur said in a release that some Up and Down suburban trains will remain canceled due to this reason.

However, there will be no mega block on main line.

Indian Railways will run special services between Panvel and Kurla during the block period.
