The central government took a big decision on Saturday. It was decided that the Republic Day celebrations would now be started from January 23 instead of January 24. This decision has been taken with the aim of including the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Republic Day celebrations. He was born on 23 January 1897.

According to sources, the Modi government is emphasizing on honoring and celebrating important aspects of the country’s history and culture. This new decision has been taken on this line. Earlier, the Central Government had started celebrating the birthday of Nutaji Subhas Chandra Bose as Parakram Divas.

It is necessary to include Netaji’s ideology in politics- Chandra Kumar Bose
According to India Today, Netaji’s great-grandson Chandra Kumar Bose said that the people of the country welcome the steps taken by the central government under the leadership of Narendra Modi. But in today’s time it is more important to include Netaji’s ideology in politics. He said that I have also written a letter to PM Modi regarding this. Netaji was the only leader who could unite people on the basis of Indianness, apart from their religions.

‘If Netaji had been there, India would not have been divided’
Chandra Bose said that if Netaji’s ideology is not adopted, then India will be shattered again. We have seen the partition of India and Bengal. Had Netaji returned to India, there would have been no partition. Now India is again divided. The politics of Partition must end. There should be communal harmony in the country.

A true tribute to Netaji would be to include his ideology in the country and fight against the politics of Partition and bring brotherhood in the country. He did not want people to be discriminated in the name of caste, class or religion. Chandra Bose also said that in his letter to PM Modi, he had demanded to build a statue of Netaji in front of India and a memorial of Netaji’s army INA at the Red Fort.

In the last few years, the Center has decided to celebrate several important dates with political and cultural significance. Some of these special dates are-

  • August 14 – Partition Horror Memorial Day
  • 31 October – National Unity Day (Birthdate of Sardar Patel)
  • 15 November – Tribal Pride Day (Birsa Munda’s birthday)
  • 26 November – Constitution Day
  • 26 December – Veer Bal Diwas (Tribute to 4 Sahibzadas)
