The central government has decided to launch the ‘Har Ghar Jhanda’ campaign on August 15, under which people will be encouraged to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day. The initiative will be a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which will be celebrated to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh will be the biggest participant in this campaign.

The ministry has urged people to hoist the tricolor at their homes, institutions and establishments on August 15 and sing the national anthem along with their families. At the same time, technical assistance will also be given to the common people, so that they can download and play ‘Jana Gana Mana’ on their phones through the app.

Tricolor will be hoisted at 2 thousand ASI protected monuments
Union Culture and Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said that preparations are being made to hoist the tricolor at about 2,000 Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protected monuments across the country. Residents of nearby villages and towns will also be invited to participate in the campaign.

The government has also decided that flags will not be distributed for the campaign, but people will be asked to buy the flag themselves so that a sense of pride is created in their mind.

Flag will be hoisted in UP from 11 to 17 August
Uttar Pradesh will be the biggest participant in this campaign. The national flag will be hoisted at 3.18 crore homes, offices and shops in the state from August 11 to 17. The government has started its preparation. A committee has been formed under the leadership of DM in every district. In Lucknow also, the tricolor will be hoisted at 6.6 lakh houses and shops.
