Center said, over Rs 36.89 crore in vaccine coverage; 40 lakh doses in last 24 hours

New Delhi, July 9: India’s cumulative COVID-19 The Union Health Ministry on Friday said that the vaccination coverage has crossed 36.89 crores. In all, over 11.18 crore doses have been given in the age group of 18-44 years. The ministry said that over 40 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

on the day-174 vaccination campaign (July 8) Out of a total of 40,23,173 vaccine doses, 27,01,200 beneficiaries received the first dose and 13,21,973 beneficiaries received the second dose. On Thursday, 20,31,634 vaccines were administered as the first dose and 1,79,901 as the second dose in the age group of 18-44 years.

Overall, 10,84,53,590 persons in the age group of 18-44 years across all states and union territories have received their first dose and a total of 33,79,213 have received their second dose. Eight states- Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka and Maharashtra have given the first dose of more than 50 lakh COVID-19 vaccines in the age group of 18-44 years.

The immunization practice is regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19, the ministry said.
