The central government has warned the states in view of the current wave of corona. The Center said that at present, out of the active cases in the country, only 5 to 10% require hospitalization. Along with this, the Center warned that the situation is constantly changing rapidly. Hospitalization conditions can also change. In such a situation, the states and union territories need to keep an eye on the active cases.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote in a letter to the states and union territories that during the second wave of corona in the country, 20-23% of the active cases required hospitalization.

As far as the third wave is concerned, its speed is increasing rapidly. 10 to 15 thousand cases were being registered daily 10 days ago, whereas now more than one lakh cases are coming daily. On Monday morning, the figure of daily cases has been recorded at 1.79 lakh.

Monitor oxygen beds, ICU beds and ventilator support
The Health Ministry said that the reason for the increase in cases right now is Omicron, which is being called Variant of Concern. Apart from this, the cases of Delta have also remained bullish. Delta is still in effect in most parts of the country. So far, more than 4 thousand cases of Omicron have been reported in the country.

In view of this, the Center has asked the states that oxygen beds, ICU beds, ventilator support should be monitored daily. Also, prepare to develop Kovid Care Centers on the lines of oxygen support beds. Also keep junior doctors, nursing and MBBS students ready, so that adequate healthcare staff is present.

There should be a system of monitoring those who take more charge
Rajesh Bhushan said that on the basis of this monitoring, daily healthcare workers and health facilities should also be reviewed, as was done during the second wave of Corona. He said that the advisory of the Center for the management of healthcare workers in covid and non-covid facilities should be strictly followed.

At the same time, it was also said that the states should ensure that the charge for beds in private institutions is reasonable. If any institution takes more money than necessary for the bed, then there should be a system for its monitoring so that action can be taken against them.
