PM Modi said that the efforts made by everyone in the making of independent India are going to be more relevant in this nectar period of independence than they were then.

National Unity Day is being celebrated on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of the country. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the country is paying its tribute to such a national hero Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who dedicated every moment of his life for Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. Sardar Patel ji is not only in history but also in the heart of our countrymen. Modi said that we will remain united, only then we will be able to move forward. It is the responsibility of all of us to take care of the national interest.

In a recorded video message, PM Modi said, ‘India is not just a geographical entity but a nation full of ideals, concepts, civilisation, liberal standards of culture. The part of the earth on which we live more than 130 crore Indians is an integral part of our soul, dreams, aspirations. We have to remember that every passenger sitting in the boat has to take care of the boat. We will be united only then will we be able to move forward, the country will be able to achieve its goals.

Prime Minister Modi said that Sardar Saheb used to see our country as one body, as a living entity.

The Prime Minister said that the strong foundation of democracy that evolved from India’s society and traditions over hundreds of years has enriched the spirit of One India.

Modi said – gave a new height to the ideals that cherish unity
Modi said that in the last 7 years, the country has got freedom from the decades old unwanted laws. The ideals that cherish national unity have been given new heights. Be it Jammu and Kashmir, Northeast or any village in the Himalayas, today all are moving ahead on the path of progress. The collective result of the many reforms that have been carried out over the years has made India an attractive investment destination.

Modi said that Sardar’s ‘Ek Bharat’ also meant that in which everyone has equal opportunities, the right to dream the same.

The Prime Minister said that the efforts of everyone in building an independent India are going to be more relevant in this nectar period of independence than they were then. Modi said that while strengthening the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, today a great sacrifice of social, economic and constitutional integration is going on in the country.

Shah said – Kevadiya has become a place of pilgrimage

At the same time, Home Minister Amit Shah said in Kevadiya that the inspiration given by Sardar Patel has done the work of keeping the country intact today. Today his inspiration has succeeded in keeping us united, in taking the country forward. He said that Kevadiya is not the name of any place, it has become a place of pilgrimage. A pilgrimage place of unity of the nation, a pilgrimage site of patriotism and today this sky-touching Statue of Unity is giving a message to the whole world that India’s future is bright.

Amit Shah administered the oath of national unity to all at the National Unity Day function at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia.

PM Modi said that today when we talk of one India, what should be the nature of that one India? An India whose women have more than one opportunity.

Shah said, ‘Harivansh Rai Bachchan had written a poem for Sardar Sahab – Patel is the watch of the country, Patel is the fearless tongue of the country. There was no hesitation in keeping any matter in an impeccable way, so today when Mother India is seeing the unbroken form, it is only and only the result of Sardar’s karma.

Inspire the young generation of the country
Amit Shah said that when there was a change in the country in 2014, the government was formed under the leadership of PM Modi, then it was decided to celebrate 31st October as National Unity Day. This was done because Sardar Patel’s struggle for independence for years continues to inspire the younger generation of the country.

Amit Shah said that along with the integration of the country, Sardar Sahab also worked to lay the administrative foundation of independent India.

Modi said that many decades ago today, even in that era, the strength of his movements was that they used the collective energy of men and women, every class, every sect.

He said that after independence, the British had conspired to break the country into pieces. There was a plan to divide the country by separating India, Pakistan and more than 550 princely states. Failing that plan, Sardar Vallabhbhai had resolved to make a united India.
