The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday released a press release inviting applications from university and college students to apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS). It is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, for 12th class passed students who are studying in College/University. Interested students can apply for CSSS 2022 online on the national scholarship portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in.
The CSSS is for year 2022 and candidates can also renew their scholarship on the portal, the first renewal for 2021, second renewal for 2020, third renewal for 2019, and fourth renewal for 2018 is also available on the website.
The last date to submit the online application form for renewal and for new scholarship is October 31, 2022, CBSE notification stated. “All the candidates are advised to apply online within the stipulated time and get their online applications verified by the institutions else the application would be treated as invalid,” reads the notification.
Students applying for Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship will need the following documents – aadhaar card number, bank details, parental income certificate, e-mail ID, valid mobile number, caste certificate (if required), disability certificate (if any).
