Practical marks or internal assessment will be a major component in the results. CBSE, while announcing two board exams for Term 2, had said this year it will lay more emphasis on year-long internal assessment. Moreover, the final result will be based on Term 1, Term 2 and Internal Assessment. While CBSE has not specified which section will carry the weightage, students are demanding that higher weightage should be given to internal assessment.

According to CBSE, the internals for class 10 students will consist of three periodic tests, student enrichment, portfolio and practical assignments, speaking-listening activities. The internal assessment for classes 11 and 12 will consist of unit tests, exploratory activities, practicals and projects at the end of each topic.

While it was mandatory for students to appear for both Term 1 and Term 2 exams, CBSE has announced that it will calculate Results for students, even if they have missed any term 1st or Term 2 board exam. If a student remains absent in both Term 1 and Term 2, the board will not be able to calculate the results for the students. Such students will have to appear in the exam next year.
