Four other doctors, who were on duty the night of the incident will take the polygraph test along with Sandip Ghosh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will conduct a polygraph test on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital where a 31-year-old PG trainee doctor was raped and murdered. Four other doctors, who were on duty the night of the incident will take the test along with him. The probe agency received a go-ahead from a special court for the polygraph test on Thursday.

The central investigation agency has been questioning Sandip Ghosh every day for the last week. Officials, however, are yet to get a satisfactory response, reports said.

Notably, the results of a polygraph test, while not admissible in court, are said to point investigators in the correct direction.

Trouble Mounts For Sandip Ghosh

Additionally, the controversial former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar MCH Sandip Ghosh is also in the crosshairs of a newly formed special investigation team probing him for alleged financial corruption. The SIT contacted Ghosh on Wednesday in connection with the allegations and complaints received against him after an internal inquiry by the West Bengal health department. He is likely to be interrogated soon as investigators look into his “questionable” financial dealings in the last three years.

Currently, there are two active cases against the former RG Kar principal — both registered by the Kolkata Police. One FIR is filed by the state health department and the other for his alleged disclosure of the rape-murder victim’s identity, a serious violation that has further intensified the legal scrutiny on him.
