CBI raid on AAP MLA’s bases in Punjab: On winning the election, said – I will take one rupee salary, trapped in 40 crore bank fraud

In Punjab, there has been a CBI raid in the place of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra. This raid has been done in the case of bank fraud of 40 crores. Gajjanamajra is the AAP MLA from Amargarh assembly constituency. CBI has raided all the places of Gajjanmajra simultaneously. This raid has been done at 3 locations in Malerkotla of Sangrur. This is the same MLA who had given an affidavit after winning the election that he would take only Re 1 salary.

So far this has been recovered
In the initial raid, CBI has got 94 signed blank checks. Many Aadhar cards have also been found. Cash worth Rs 16.57 lakh has been recovered. Police have recovered 88 foreign currency notes, property documents, documents related to several bank accounts. For now, the raid is on. No formal information has been given by the CBI in this case yet.

Loan was taken between 2011 to 14
AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra had taken a loan from the bank in 4 installments between 2011 and 2014. This loan was about 40.92 crores. The Ludhiana branch of the bank complained about this to the CBI. In which it was said that instead of the purpose for which Gajjanmajra had taken the loan, it was used at some other place.

MLA came in discussion after 1 rupee salary
AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra had come into the limelight when he had announced that he would take only Re 1 salary. Gajjanamajra had said that Punjab was facing financial problems. That’s why I will take a salary of Re 1 as an MLA. In the election he defeated Simranjit Singh Mann of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).
