Gurgaon: The city’s crime branch on Monday arrested a drug smuggler and recovered around 1.84 kg of opium, worth around Rs 1 crore, from his possession. . in the retail market. According to the police, Ram had entered Haryana via Rajasthan after smuggling opium from Madhya Pradesh. ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan said, “They had to supply the medicine to small peddlers at huge profit.” He said that the market for the drug in the retail market is around Rs 1 crore.
The ACP said Ram was produced in the court on Monday and taken on three-day police remand. “We will try to find out the details of the person who was supposed to take delivery of drugs from the accused,” he said.
