The blast occurred when a funeral procession bidding farewell to those injured in pager explosions was being held.
A blast during a funeral procession took out who might have been a Hezbollah operative in Lebanon. The video, shared by Jason Brodsky who is the policy director at the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), showed a funeral procession involving huge crowds of men and women and children when suddenly a plume of smoke erupts from a person in front of an ambulance.
News18 could not independently verify the authenticity of the video shared.
The blast, visually similar to a bursting of a cracker, immediately scattered the crowd gathered near the ambulance. One person was captured rolling on the ground in agony while people around him ran to take cover.
It is unclear where the blast may have occurred but a separate report by broadcaster BBC said that a blast occurred at a funeral procession in Dahiyeh, a southern suburb of Beirut, where crowds gathered to bid farewell to four of the people killed in Tuesday’s pager explosion.
