The man’s intention was to relax on the floating mattress in the infinity pool, but his carelessness led to a heart-stopping incident.
Imagine going on a relaxing trip or staying at a hotel to chill, only to find yourself on the edge of a thrilling yet dangerous situation. Recently, a viral video surfaced on the internet, showing a man in China who ignored hotel rules by sneaking into the infinity swimming pool at night. His intention was to relax on the floating mattress in the water, but his carelessness led to a heart-stopping incident. As the man jumped onto the mattress, it unexpectedly began to drift backwards, dangerously close to the pool’s edge. The man quickly realised that something was wrong, as he managed to narrowly avoid the disaster by jumping out and grabbing the floating bed from falling just in time. The hair-raising incident was shared on Instagram, it has gone viral and garnered over 3 million views.
The page, which shared the video, explained, “The man said that the outer edge of the pool was only about one meter wide, and that it would not have been able to catch him or the mattress if it had drifted beyond it. The man said that what lay beyond the pool’s glass border was a deep valley. The hotel staff said that the swimming pool is attended by lifeguards, but that the facilities are closed to visitors after 9 PM. The man had trespassed into the pool after operation hours, which was when the incident happened.”
Reacting to the clip, a user wrote, “I can feel the tickles he had in his stomach.” Another shared, “These pools are not for floating objects. They would all float off the building sooo for him to think he could do this is crazy.” “Rich ways to Die,” a comment read.
An individual noted, “95% of infinity pools have another pool below it, extending past the edge. Granted, there’s a high chance the wind would catch that bed and throw him.” Another stated, “This his fault for trespassing after hours.”
A user joked, “He won’t die because he would fall off the mattress.” Another simply asserted, “New fear unlocked.” One more added, “Bro realised he was getting too comfortable.”
In a similar incident, a tourist in Bali lost her life after falling from an infinity pool. The 35-year-old American woman, vacationing with a friend, fell from the edge of the pool. Eyewitnesses recounted that she attempted to walk on the side of the pool which was not meant for climbing, despite warnings and obstacles blocking the access, she fell approximately 15 meters into a pond below. The incident was later confirmed by Ubud Police.
