A 14-year-old girl is an intermediate student in a government school. After learning that the youth Ishaq had concealed his real identity, the girl complained to her family members about the alleged stalker. The police arrested him on Friday and sent him to jail.
Police said that a case has been registered against him under sections 354D (chasing) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and related sections of SC/ST Act besides anti-conversion law. has gone.
In the complaint, the girl’s family members said that Ishaq, a resident of Kasba Thai Mohalla, had initially befriended her by hiding his true identity and posing as Raj.
About 15 days ago, when she came to know that the young man she is in a relationship with is a Muslim, she stopped talking to him and blocked his phone number. Thereafter, Ishaq allegedly stopped her and threatened her several times for refusing to talk to her. Threats reportedly ranged from kidnapping and exterminating him and his family members.
Inspector Kotwali Balram Singh said on Saturday, “We have arrested the accused and sent him to jail after registering a case under relevant sections of IPC, POCSO Act and SC/ST Act besides anti-conversion law.”
