Case registered against former BSP MLA for inciting ‘religious enmity’ in Ghaziabad

A case has been registered against former Bahujan Samajwadi Party MLA Aslam Choudhary for inciting enmity between religious groups over a video clip, police said here on Sunday. An FIR has been registered against the former MLA from Dhaulana, who recently joined the Samajwadi Party, at the Mussoorie police station in the district.

In a video circulated on social media, Choudhary was seen addressing a gathering of people and questioning the November 11 encounter in Loni in which seven Muslim men (including a juvenile, it is alleged) were killed. He was shot in the leg during a raid. Nab cow slaughterers. The raids were conducted under Loni Border SHO Rajendra Tyagi, who has since been the subject of investigation into the alleged encounter.

Choudhary in the video accused Gurjar of patronizing Tyagi for the alleged encounter and working to prevent his transfer. In his speech, Choudhary was also heard saying that he would take revenge of the encounter from Gujjars. He reportedly said that if you want to take revenge then you (Muslims) have to educate your children to make them officers. Police said that on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Lokesh Kumar posted in Dasna town, an FIR has been registered against Chaudhary under sections 506, 505C and 153 of the Indian Penal Code. Reacting to what was said in the video, BJP MLA Gurjar allegedly called Choudhary an illiterate person who shuts his mouth. He also accused them of giving protection to cow smugglers and said that they should be booked under the National Security Act.

Gurjar has been in favor of Tyagi since the start of the investigation and has demanded the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of Uttar Pradesh to cancel his transfer. He has also accused unidentified police officers of collusion with the cow killers. Superintendent of Police, Rural, Iraj Raja said that an FIR would be registered against any person who tries to break communal harmony and spread hatred in the society. He said that the video in question has been saved in a pen drive and investigation has been initiated against Choudhary in the matter.
