Carl Pei: Nothing smartphone to reportedly launch in April this year – Times of India

Now, it looks like the company is all set to expand into other product categories. Some earlier rumors suggest that nothing is working on the smartphone that will be launched this year. Now a new online report suggests that the company may launch its first smartphone in April this year.
According to an online report by TechCrunch, nothing has been said about the launch of its first smartphone in April 2022. Details about the smartphone are scarce right now. However, reports suggest that the smartphone will come with a design language similar to TWS. This means that the device is said to come with the same ‘elements of transparency’ design as the true wireless earbuds.
The report further states that the company has been working on the smartphone for over a year and it also showed off a prototype to executives from various companies, including Qualcomm in MWC 2022.
Last month, the company’s co-founder Carl Pei also shared a tweet pointing to a smartphone launch. Also in February last year, the company had acquired smartphone brand Essentials. 9to5Google found fill-in at the UK Intellectual Property Office. Documents revealed that the former Required CEO Andy Rubin has transferred ownership of Essential’s brand assets to Carl Pei’s Nothing Technologies Ltd.
Apart from this, the company also partnered with Qualcomm last year. Nothing confirms that its future tech products will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon.
