Greater Noida: Two tourists died and four, including three Congolese studentsInjured after crashing Honda Civic, which was running at 110 kmph mini bus parked away from Yamuna Expressway Sunday Morning.

Police said that of the 14 tourists on the bus, nine were from West Bengal’s Howrah district. They had gone to see the Taj Mahal and were on their way back to Delhi when the accident happened. Three Congolese nationals, who are students of a college in Greater Noida, were on a long drive and were returning to their flat when they were hit by a bus. The trio – Lucy (23), John (25) and DiMercy (25) suffered serious injuries and are being treated at a private hospital. The fourth person who was injured was a tourist – Sneha (18), the sister of Mandal.
“Dieumerci was driving the car at a speed of over 110kmph. He failed to apply the brakes on time and crashed into the bus,” said the investigating officer of the case, Avesh Malik. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the group of tourists Had come to Delhi on leave and went to see the Taj Mahal for which he had booked a mini bus.He was returning when his vehicle broke down near zero point.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the sedan being driven by the students had also overtaken a patrol vehicle just 150 meters from the spot where they collided with the bus. Police are trying to ascertain whether the trio was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The police have not found any such substance from his car so far.
“We have received a written complaint from the family of the deceased. An FIR will be registered soon,” Malik said.
