The innings of the ‘Captain’ of the Congress in Punjab ended on the ‘appeal’ of his own MLAs. The survey of the party itself revealed that more than 40 MLAs did not want Captain Amarinder Singh as CM. A large number of workers believed that if the Captain is projected as the Chief Minister again, defeat is certain. Party President Sonia Gandhi gave a free hand to both of them to give the option of resignation to the Captain in the legislature party meeting, otherwise clear the way for removal. According to informed sources, Captain was refused resignation on the lines of Vijay Rupani of BJP and Karnataka-Uttarakhand.
The MLAs told the high command that the Punjab government’s remote was with Prashant Kishor, the hands and buttons of Captain K Dhewate Nirwan Singh.
