Key Features of RF5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye
The new RF5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye lens is equipped with two fisheye lenses that enable it to capture 3D 180-degree VR video using the parallax between left and right images.
Lenses are L (Luxury) lenses, designed and manufactured to provide the best possible standards of illustration performance, operability and durability. The large f/2.8 maximum aperture enables bright, high-quality images to be captured. The lens configuration also optimizes the bending of light beams, achieving a natural parallax effect with a 60 mm base length.
The left and right lenses are each equipped with an electromagnetic diaphragm (EMD) that electronically controls the aperture diameter. The lens has a gelatin filter holder which enables the ND filter to be installed. Dust- and drip-resistant sealing is used on the mount and the focus ring is lined up on the concave surface of the forefoot lens element to control internal light reflection to help reduce surface damage. The lens is capable of capturing high-definition 8K 180-degree VR footage.
Key Features of Computer Software Applications – EOS VR Utility and EOS VR Plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro
Canon has also announced two softwares to make post processing easier for users. Users can stitch and process entire VT footage using the EOS VR utility or the EOS VR plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro.
