New Delhi: Canada has extended the ban on flights from India for a month till September 21, 2021.
Passengers traveling from India to Canada via any other country will need a COVID negative test report from that transit country before boarding a flight to their destination.
However, only cargo operations, medical transfers and military flights will continue to operate from India.
Canada suspended all commercial and private passenger flights from India on April 23, when the second Covid-19 wave hit India. Since then, the date of reopening has been postponed several times.
In a statement, the Government of Canada said on Monday (August 9): “Based on the latest public health advice from the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada is extending a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) that prohibits all direct commercial and private passengers.” Offers flights from India to Canada at 23:59 EDT as of September 21, 2021. All direct commercial and private passenger flights from India to Canada are subject to NOTAM. Only cargo operations, medical transfers or military flights are not included. ”
