Calcutta High Court directed the Anupam Dutt murder case, report to be submitted

CBI investigation has been started in the murder of Jhaldar Congress councilor Tapan Kandu. The Calcutta High Court has sought a report from the state government in the murder case of Trinamool Congress councilor Anupam Dutt in Panihati. Today, a division bench of Chief Justice Prakash Srivastava and Justice Rajarshi Bhardwaj on Monday directed the state to submit a report on the murder to the court within the next two weeks.

What happened in Panihati Trinamool Congress councilor Anupam Dutt was shot dead from point blank range. On April 13, the killer killed Anupam Dutt and took shelter in the Hogla forest. Detectives claim that Dhananjay’s arrest provided further evidence that Shambhu had been planning to remove Anupam Dutt for several days. The inquiry report has to be submitted to the court.

According to intelligence sources, the police have so far arrested three accused in the murder case. Meenakshi, the wife of the late Trinamool Congress corporator, demanded that the CBI be entrusted with the investigation of the incident. Anupam Dutt came out with his partner on the day of murder. The assailant shot him in the back of the head and fled.

According to sources, Dhananjay had provided weapons in the murder of the Trinamool Congress corporator. He was arrested from Patna. The intelligence officers of Barrackpore interrogated Dhananjay. When he was taken to Barrackpore court on Saturday, the judge sent him to seven days’ police custody. This time advocate Anindya Sundar Das filed a public interest litigation in this regard. Therefore, the Calcutta High Court has called for the report.
