The law has been made in a foolish way, will not be implemented
Regarding the CAA law, President Candidate Sinha said that it has been implemented in a foolish manner. The government is not able to implement for this reason and is only giving excuses. Sinha said that this is an important issue for Assam and Northeast India and I hope everyone will understand.

Uddhav engaged in saving Shiv Sena, Mamta’s full support
Responding to a question, Sinha said that Uddhav Thackeray is trying to save Shiv Sena. That’s why he has supported Draupadi Murmu. Regarding Mamta Banerjee, he said that he has full support and everything will be visible on the day of voting.

Yashwant Sinha also appealed to the BJP MLAs in Assam to vote on the basis of discretion.

CAA law could not be implemented in the country even after 31 months
The rules of a law should be published within 6 months so that that law can be implemented. The Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA was passed by the Parliament on December 11, 2019. The Act came into force on 10 January 2020. But its rules have not been fixed.

To set the rules, the central government sought extensions from the subordinate legislative committees of Parliament in October 2020, February 2021 and May 2021. However, in May this year, Home Minister Amit Shah announced that it will be implemented after the corona is over.

What is CAA law and why is it being opposed?
Under CAA, people of Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, Jain and Buddhist religions who came from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan due to religious persecution will be given citizenship. Those who have come before December 31, 2014, will get citizenship. Now the rule of staying for 11 years to get citizenship has also been relaxed.

Now know 3 reasons for protest…

  • People in the Northeast are feeling that the citizenship of refugees will end their own culture and identity.
  • Muslims say that not including Muslim refugees in CAA is discrimination.
  • Muslims are seeing it by linking it with NRC. There is a fear that non-Muslims will get citizenship if NRC is done. They will have trouble.
