The first OTT edition of the popular singing reality show, Indian Idol Telugu, concluded with BVK Vagdevi being declared the season winner. Vagdevi received the winner’s trophy and a check of Rs 10 lakh from megastar Chiranjeevi, who was the guest of honor at the reality finale. Vagdevi also gets a prize money of Rs 6 lakh and a chance to sing in the upcoming Geeta Arts film.
Talking about her journey on the show, Bagdevi thanked the show’s judges Thaman S, Nitya Menon and Kartik for their support. He said the trophy was a fitting reward for his efforts on the show. “My hard work in the last few months has finally paid off with this achievement. Geeta Arts has given me a once in a lifetime opportunity which is nothing less than a dream come true for me. For many participants like me, this is a great opportunity for me. I am grateful to AHA for creating an opportunity-rich platform,” Vagdevi said after lifting the winner’s trophy.
Vagdevi, who hails from Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, is also pursuing her graduation in architecture in Odisha. She now wants to pursue a career in music while completing her education
Among the top 3 finalists, Srinivas and Vaishnavi have been declared the first and second runners-up of the show by winning prizes of Rs.3 and Rs.2 lakhs respectively.
Indian Idol Telugu finale streamed on OTT platform Aha. Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi also appeared on the show as special guests to promote their upcoming film Virata Parvam.
Judges Karthik and Thaman performed together at the finale event of Indian Idol Telugu. The show, which also marked the debut of Indian Idol 5 winner Sriram Chandra as the host, began streaming in February this year.
Over the course of a 15-week long journey, Indian Idol Telugu hosted some of the biggest names in the Telugu film and music industry as special guests. Manisharma, Usha Uthup, Rama Jogayya Shastri, actor Adivi Shesha, and many others were seen gracing the stage of Indian Idol Telugu. Popular Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna was seen in a guest appearance in the semi-final episode of the show on 10 June.
