Bus going to Vaishno Devi started burning in smoke: Passenger bus caught fire in Katra, 4 passengers killed, 22 injured

A passenger bus caught fire near Katra in Jammu. In this accident 4 people died and 22 people got badly burnt. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital. This bus was carrying pilgrims of Vaishno Devi. The bus caught fire near Shani temple in Nomai, 3 km from Katra. Jammu Zone ADG Mukesh Singh said that the preliminary investigation did not reveal the use of any kind of explosives. Babila Rakwal, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, said that there is a possibility of fire due to overheating of the tank of the bus. The whole matter is being investigated. ADGP Jammu said that after getting information about the accident, the team of FSL is stationed at the spot. 22 people injured in the accident have been taken to Katra for treatment. Many of these have been referred for specialized treatment.
