The Delhi Police on Tuesday said the ‘bully bye’ case has been transferred to the Special Cell Cyber ​​Unit/Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) Unit.

Additional CP Chinmoy Biswal said, “We have transferred the matter to the IFSC unit, understanding the gravity of the matter. In cases of cyber crime involving companies of international locations, it becomes difficult for us. But we are expediting the MLAT process.”

The case was first registered by the Cyber ​​Cell, South East Zone.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old engineering student from Bengaluru has been sent to police custody till January 10. While another woman, who is said to be the main accused, has been sent to police custody. Mumbai Police detained,

The woman is being brought to Mumbai for investigation. He will be produced in the Uttarakhand court for transit remand.

The two are accused of being friends on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Therefore, the links have been established.

On January 1, photographs of hundreds of Muslim women were taken without their permission and uploaded to the ‘Bully Bai’ app on the GitHub platform for “auction”. A similar case had come to the fore last year as well.

What is Bulli Bai controversy?

The controversy made headlines after reports of women uploading pictures of hundreds of Muslim women on an app called ‘Bully Bai’ on social media. Cybercriminals will collect pictures of Muslim women from their social media accounts and encourage people to participate in their “auctions”.

The ‘Bully By’ controversy comes barely six months after the ‘Sully Deal’ controversy in 2021.
