Tharoor said, “There were many things in the budget, but nothing was said on unemployment and inflation. Focus on tourism, but I don’t think what the government did was enough in the budget. There are many things that could have been done.”

Former Finance Minister Jayant Sinha gave 10 out of 10 marks in the Union Budget. “This is a budget that ensures India Despite the faltering of many economies, the star of the economies remains. There is emphasis on green development and cooperative sectors are being promoted and whatever the opposition says is wrong. This budget is well planned.

Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chowdhary said that this is a budget which has touched the lives of every class and region. “There is talk of natural farming and organic farming. ICAR budget was increased. We are happy that Bajra has been counted as Mr Anna,” Chowdhury said.

On the opposition’s allegation of MNREGA not getting prominence, Choudhary said, “Opposition can say anything, their allegation is baseless.”

The opposition continued to comment on the announcements made during the Finance Minister’s address. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury got up from his seat several times while the Finance Minister was delivering the budget speech. Dayanidhi Maran of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) can be heard calling it a “Budget of Acronyms”.

Congress leader at a time Rahul Gandhi Entered the Parliament, some MPs of the party accompanied him raising the slogan ‘Bharat Jodo’.
