BTS’ Jin was one of the torch bearers for Paris Olympics 2024, where he spoke about his interest in various sports, including gymnastics, swimming, tennis and fencing.

The Paris Olympics 2024 is just around the corner and the city has been buzzing with excitement as popular faces carry the torch through the streets of the French capital. Among them was the eldest member of BTS, Jin, who recently finished his military service in South Korea. As a representative of his country, the idol carried the Olympic torch to the iconic Louvre Pyramid Museum. Following the event, he played a game called, Would you rather, where he spoke about his interest in various sports, including rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, tennis and fencing. However, the K-Pop star found himself in a challenging situation when he was asked to choose between two French delicacies, croissant and baguette.

When Jin was asked to choose between the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum, he picked the tower, and said, “If you’re on top, the view is beautiful.” Later, when asked whether he preferred watching rhythmic gymnastics or swimming, Jin said he enjoys “more dynamic and active activities.” While he admitted that he likes both, the BTS star finds swimming to be more exciting and interesting.

Further, when the interviewer asked which Olympic event he would like to participate in, Jin chose tennis and claimed that it’s his hobby. At the end of the interview, the singer faced a tough choice between croissants and baguettes. Without much hesitation, Jin said, “To my taste, the croissant is a bit more delicious.”

Dressed in an Olympics white attire, all the torchbearers, including Jin, ran on the streets of Pairs, where the crowd encouraged them with loud cheers. On Monday, the flame finally reached the top of the Eiffel Tower, which was carried by French judoka and Olympic champion Clarisse Agbegnenou.

Jin was discharged from his military service on June 12, which happens to be the anniversary of the group. Currently, all BTS members are on hiatus to complete their military duties and other members are expected to be discharged by June 2025. To celebrate Jin’s return, the entire group took leaves and welcomed him back with open arms.

The 2024 Paris Olympics is scheduled to take place from July 27 and it will go until August 11. The games will feature over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports.
