K-pop superband BTS will hold an online concert ‘BTS Permission to Dance on Stage’ this weekend with the latest up-to-date viewing technology, its management agency has said.

According to Big Hit Music, a performance of the seven-piece act will be livestreamed on a scale equivalent to an offline concert from a stadium here on Sunday. This is BTS’s first global online concert in nearly a year, Yonhap news agency reports.

“This event is designed to help our fans feel like they are at the concert in person,” said Big Hit Music. “We’ve chosen songs that our fans, Cena, love.” The agency said state-of-the-art visual effects will help spectators enjoy computer-generated visual effects and images shown on large LED screens in the stadium, as well as through their own devices at home.

Big Hit Music said that a multi-view live streaming service will also be available for them to select and enjoy different scenes taken from six different angles on a real-time basis. The upcoming online event is taking place after the group called off its planned ‘BTS Map of the Soul Tour’ due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the online concert, BTS will be doing a live in-person concert next month in Los Angeles for the first time in two years. ‘BTS Permission to Dance on Stage – LA’ will be held at Sophie Stadium on November 27 and 28 and December 1 and 2. All tickets for this event are already sold out.
