BTS fans are ecstatic that four members of the group have completed 60 percent of their mandatory military service.
Fans of the K-pop boy group BTS are filled with joy as the remaining members of the seven-member band are set to be discharged from their mandatory military service soon. According to a recent update, Kim Namjoon (RM), Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung (V) and Jeon Jungkook will soon reunite with their fellow members. On November 4, The Camp, a South Korean military app, shared new updates, revealing that the four K-pop idols have completed 60 percent of their service.
RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook are just eight months away from reuniting with Kim Seokjin (Jin) and Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), who recently got discharged from the military. The much-awaited reunion of the group might happen by the middle of 2025.
The recent update has sent the ARMYs into a frenzy. They have been waiting with bated breath for their favourite group to reunite and make music together. Since the updates were shared, the group’s fans have taken to social media to share their excitement.
One user on X stated, “Time passes so quickly.” Another said, “Good. We have passed half of it. Fighting.” A fan also wrote, “OMGG ONLY 40% LEFT.”
RM and V enlisted for the military on the same day, December 11, 2023, while Jimin and Jungkook followed the next day. Since their enlistment, the four members have been serving their nation under various branches of the military. RM, the leader of BTS, completed his training as an elite soldier and is now a part of the military band where he plays the saxophone. Taehyung, on the other hand, is a part of South Korea’s special defence team and was recently seen fulfilling his patrolling duties. Speaking of Jimin and Jungkook, the two have been sharing their military journey together in the 5th Infantry Division.
Min Yoongi, aka Suga, who enlisted in the military in September 2023, is scheduled to be discharged a month after the four members. The K-pop idol signed up for social service, the term of which is longer than the others. Suga is expected to return in July 2025 after the completion of his 21-month duty as a social worker.
In other news, the eldest member of BTS, Kim Seokjin, aka Jin, was discharged from the military in June this year. He started his service in December 2022. Since his discharge, the 33-year-old K-pop idol has enthralled his fans with new music, such as the extended version of Super Tuna, and is also gearing up for the release of his first solo album, Happy. J-Hope returned from the military on October 17.
