Buttler put on a master class in power-hitting scoring just 83 off 44 balls including six fours and seven sixes. 5 of those sixes came in one Harmeet Singh over in the closing stages of the match as the England skipper ransacked 32 runs off the spinner’s over, thus ensuring England’s victory.
England skipper Jos Buttler was in marauding form during his team’s final T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 fixture against the USA Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on Sunday and his brutal 38-ball 83-run knock ensured the defending champions brushed aside the co-hosts by 10 runs and 10.2 overs to spare. England chased down 115 in just 9.4 overs.
The massive win also ensured that England are now through to the semi-finals and the fight for the remaining one spot from Group 2 is between South Africa and the West Indies.
After a stellar bowling performance from the England bowlers – led by Adil Rashid (4-013-2) and Chris Jordan (2.5-0-10-4), Buttler put on a master class in power-hitting scoring just 83 off 44 balls including six fours and seven sixes.
