British GP: After scoring 17 points in the first eight races of Formula 1’s 2023 season, McLaren stormed back with 42 points in the final two races. The Latest – The British GP saw McLaren get their best ever result of the season as homeboy Lando Norris secured a first podium in 2023. Other teammate and novice Oscar Piastre was not far behind and missed out on the podium to Lewis Hamilton, who pushed for third. Piastri in fourth place.

But seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton was full of praise for his former team McLaren after a positive performance at Silverstone. The Brit highlighted that he is pleased to see McLaren’s performance. He called the car a “rocket ship” and extended “big congratulations to Lando and McLaren, where it was my family, where I first started.”

“It was a great battle between us but it is really amazing to see McLaren back in competitive form. “It’s been such a long time,” said Hamilton.

McLaren’s new upgrade is playing a role in recent races

McLaren’s work in the garage has brought him rewards on the field. They made aerodynamic upgrades, which gave them a boost, despite having the same Mercedes engine. He had used the upgrade at the previous race in Austria, where Norris finished fourth. They have now overtaken Alpine to take fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship.

But his big test will be on slower tracks, unlike Silverstone. The next race is scheduled to be held in Hungary on 23 July, with a slower average pace. Norris is also aware of the danger as he admitted that his car is “terrible on slow turns, extremely difficult to drive.” The British driver knows that the way he has performed in the last two races, people can expect a lot from him, but it will not be possible on a slow track. “But we’re going to some tracks where I’m sure people will say what have you done now? Like, how did it get so bad all of a sudden?”

Max Verstappen all the way

The 2023 season is proving to be a complete disappointment for Max Verstappen and his Red Bull. Two-time defending champion Verstappen has now won six races in a row and won eight out of 10 races this season, while his team-mate Sergio Pérez has won the other two.

Verstappen won the British GP despite a strong challenge. Lando Norris overtook the Dutch driver early in the race, but Verstappen responded quickly and held on to the lead through 52 laps at Silverstone.
