There is excitement over the recovery of the housewife’s naked bloodied body in Chandrakona, West Midnapore. The neighbors rescued the bride’s child from the house. On Sunday morning, a bottle of liquor and a cigarette were recovered from the body of a bride named Soma Pal (28) in Jayantipur, Chandrakona. The groom’s husband works abroad.
On Monday morning, a shepherd had come to Soma’s house in Chandrakona Municipality’s Ward 8 Jayantipur to give milk. He told neighbors that no one answered several calls. The people around came after hearing the cry of Soma’s baby girl. When he went inside, he saw that the bride’s body was lying half-naked under the bed. Police was informed. Top police officers arrived and recovered the body.
According to locals, the women did not spend much time in the area. Being abroad, the husband stayed at home with his daughter. Sometimes strangers would enter his house.
According to police sources, preliminary investigation has revealed that it is a case of rape and murder. There are injury marks at many places including the neck of the dead body.
